Twyn is made by Henry Scott, trading as Twyn, in England. There is no company behind it yet; if that changes, this page will say so.
We are the "controller" for the small amount of personal data we hold (see "What we do hold" below).
When you scan, Twyn builds a floor plan, a 3D model and a Wi-Fi map of your home. It saves them inside the app, on your phone.
A saved scan holds:
While you scan, the app also saves photos, depth readings and the phone's position as you walk. Up to 300 photos for a normal scan, more for a long walk.
These build the coloured 3D view and Real view. They stay in the app, on your phone.
If a person, a letter or a screen is in view while you scan, it will be in these photos. Scan with that in mind.
If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or to a computer, your scans are included, like any app's data. That backup is between you and Apple (or your computer). We cannot see it.

During a scan, the app sends short "ping" messages to your router, inside your home network, to time the Wi-Fi link. Nothing goes to us.
The router's address is worked out on the phone each time. It is not saved. iOS may ask you to allow "Local Network" access for this.
During a scan, the app times downloads from Cloudflare's public speed test (speed.cloudflare.com). Up to 40 per scan, about 4 MB each.
Cloudflare sees your internet (IP) address and the request, as any website would. The request carries no scan, no photo, no place in your home, and no ID that points to you. Cloudflare's own privacy policy covers what it logs.
These downloads only ever run over Wi-Fi, never over mobile data.
The unlock is bought through Apple's App Store. Apple takes your payment and holds your purchase record under its own privacy policy. We never see your card, your name or your Apple ID.
The purchase carries a random ID for the home you unlocked, so Apple's record says which home it paid for. That ID is a random number. It is not your address and not your scan.
So a new phone remembers which homes you unlocked, the app keeps a tiny unlock record in your own iCloud account. It holds the random home IDs, when each was unlocked or refunded, when the paid map was first shown, and Apple's purchase numbers. No scan, no photos.
It lives in your iCloud, not with us. We cannot read it.
When you tap Export (PDF or CAD), you choose where the file goes. After that, the rules of wherever you sent it apply.

Everything else happens on your phone, under your control. The app only saves what it needs to do what you asked.

You have the right to:
Your scans: you already hold them. To delete one, open your library, tap the three dots, then Delete. To delete everything, delete the app.
Anything else: email privacy@twynhome.app. We reply within one month.
We cannot see your scans, so we cannot send you a copy of them or delete them for you. They are on your phone.
We do not send your scan anywhere. Apple and Cloudflare run their own services, which may be outside the UK, under their own privacy policies.
None that affect you legally. The app works out where your router should go. That is advice, not a decision about you.
Twyn is made for adults sorting out their home Wi-Fi. It is not aimed at children. We collect nothing from anyone, including children.
Refund checks. When someone asks Apple for a refund, Apple can ask the seller whether the paid content was used. We plan to answer. What would be sent to Apple: whether the paid map was shown for that home, and when. Never your scan, photos or Wi-Fi readings.
Today that "shown" time lives only on your phone and in your iCloud. So this would need the app to send it to us first. We will update this policy, and ask you in the app, before that starts. [check: build detail and consent wording]
Twyn Watch. A possible future subscription. If it ever needs anything to leave your phone, we will update this policy and ask you first.
When we change it, we update the version and date at the top. If a change means something new leaves your phone, we will tell you in the app before it happens.
